Mac Pro 2008 8800GT Installation

I upgraded my graphics card in my 2008 dual 2.8 Mac Pro from the stock ATI Radeon 2600XT to an Nvidia GeForce 8800GT. The reason - I want to have full OpenCL support when OS X Snow Leopard arrives. The procedure is simple but I thought I would share.

I decided to move up to an eIPS display after reading some many great things about the technology. After a direct comparison to my existing TN display, the differences are very noticeable.

Please note that I do say LED display at one point during the video but I meant LCD. This is NOT an LED backlit display. Sorry for any confusion.

I decided to boost the performance of my Mac Pro a bit by installing a RAID 0 array. The process was surprisingly simple so I decided I would share how to do this upgrade in case any of you were wondering how to do so as well. Cleaning out the fridge

In usual bachelor living fashion, my fridge goes many months before a proper inventory takes place. This Saturday, I decided it was time to figure out exactly how many items in my trusty fridge had expired over the past few months. I travel on a regular basis and often times I end up purchasing food that never even has a chance to be consumed - milk, eggs, fruits and vegetables usually take the worst of this.

After going through my fridge this weekend, I ended up with almost nothing to eat. Thankfully, frozen items survive much longer and I have plenty of items to choose from on that end. I really need to start being smarter about what I buy when venturing out to the grocery store.
