The entertaining side of social media - Candle Talk

Social media is great for making professional connections; however, it is also a great way to make new friends.  Seesmic has been a fantastic opportunity for me to meet some wonderful and interesting people with whom I can exchange ideas.  What I didn’t realize when I joined was just how much fun would be had as we started getting to know the community.  Below is a great example of the slightly wacky side of social media.

Sunday night, we decided it would be a good idea to unwind before the work week.  I had a scented candle on my desk (hey, I like my office to smell good) and it sparked a discussion we eventually ended up calling Candle Talk.  What started as a joke ended up leading to some great discussion about past experiences in our lives.  It really opened the door to some deep discussions - everything from emotions vs logic to the complications of love.  As far as I’m concerned, this is a great example of how a strong community (online or off) can really help to better ourselves and those around us.
