After all the controversy and negativity swirling around yesterday’s blog topic, I decided to take things in a more positive direction this evening. Being the owner of a cat, Willie, I make a regular practice of supporting local shelters as well as the The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).
My birthday is coming up in early October so I decided to start a donation drive. Friends and family always ask what I would like yet I never seem to have an answer these days. Now, when I start getting the birthday inquiries, I can send them here instead.
I have set a goal of $250. Any amount you can give, even if just a few dollars, would be fantastic. You have the option to select “other” for your amount at which point you may enter whatever you like. Also, the person who makes the donation pushing up to or past the $250 mark gets the free t-shirt
Please take time to consider all the pets out there without loving homes by helping out the ASPCA. There are few crimes in this world quite a sick and twisted as harm against helpless animals. Animal abuse has been proven to show a pattern of violent and disturbing behavior among those who carry out such actions. If you can spare a few bucks, please make a donation and help abandoned and injured pets find a loving home and help put away those carry out these horrific crimes.
Also, I will match every donation made during the month of September until $250 has been reached. Please join in and help me make this project a success. It may not be much, but every dollar helps and I am excited to see this drive make its goal.
In other pet related news, my cat needed his annual rabies booster shot. Instead of paying over fifty dollars to take him to the vet, I hit up Cat’s Night Out at the local pet shop. This is a great opportunity for owners to get their cats vaccinated for a fraction of the price. The vaccination was only twelve dollars and will keep Willie safe from any bats that may infiltrate my premises. He was definitely not a fan of this experience as you can see below.
